The Evolution 250 is the first scooter to use the latest in a new the range of Piaggio engines, the Quasar 250.

This radical engine pinches much of its technology from the X9 Master 500. The liquid-cooled engine features a four-valve head and a digital ignition system, with variable timing and specific mapping. The result is an impressive 22bhp and torque of over 20Nm.

This pushes the Piaggio X9 Evolution 250 to a 78mph maximum with the fastest pick-up of any 250 scooter, without affecting fuel consumption or running costs.

The Quasar 250 engine makes this new X9 Evolution the comfortable, smooth ride you expect from a maxi GT scooter whether you are running around town or two-up on longer trips.

Minimal gas emissions and fuel consumption ensure that the X9 Evolution 250 is environment-friendly. Thanks to the combination of a two-stage catalytic converter and secondary air system, emissions are well within the limits imposed by Euro 2 legislation.

Bodywork of the X9 Evolution 250 was developed at the Piaggio Style Centre to optimise comfort for rider and passenger, with maximum storage capacity. Underneath the curvaceous panels is a double-cradle steel tube frame with exceptional rigidity.

The front fork has 35mm stanchions while a twin shock at the rear ensures precise steering and roadholding. Wheels are 14-inchers, with an integrated braking system linking the three 240mm disks for stunning stopping powers. The Piaggio X9 Evolution 250 is available metallic Imperial Blue, Smoky Grey and Excalibur Grey and a pastel Shiny Black.

Impressive standard equipment places the Piaggio X9 Evolution range - available in 125, 250 and 500 versions - among the most comfortable and stylish scooters on the market.

But you can personalise your scoot with a radio/interphone/hands-free mobile system, a 45-litre top case, an extra-large windscreen, an electronic anti-theft alarm and loads of other accessories.
