Retro is cool, and if you don’t like big, expensive and heavy bikes wearing the design of the past, Suzuki is soon going to offer its new VanVan 200 model in the land of the free.

The model is especially aimed at beginner riders, offering an up-right position with a high handlebar and a seat for two. Spoked rims wrapped in beefy multi-terrain tires and a 220 mm ground clearance makes the VanVan 200 ideal for mounting curbs, going over potholes and bumps as well as tackle some dusty farm roads.

Styling wise, the small bike looks like it exited the production line some time in the 1970s, yet it benefits from a 199cc fuel-injected air-cooled four-stroke engine, electronic ignition, twin-piston disc front brake, a 33 mm telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock.

Curiously, the rear comes with a drum brake only, despite the fact that in Europe it will most likely be sold with a disc brake to be compatible with the mandatory ABS.

The 2017 lineup comes with two more updates and for $4,399 you can have the Suzuki TU250X, another retro-styled bike that is fun to ride in the city. The new model comes with a 249 cc air-cooled, four-stroke single-cylinder engine, chrome-plated spoke rims, polished engine cases and two color options - Metallic Oort Gray No.3 or Glass Sparkle Black.
