MV Agusta “Ballistic Trident” by Rough Crafts

.

MV Agusta Taiwan, commissioned Winston Yeh of Rough Crafts to design and build this MV Agusta “Ballistic Trident”, based on the Brutale 800 RR.

Yeh said, “While looking at old pictures of vintage racing GPs, we saw these bikes with full dustbin fairings. I decided this was the biggest visual reference I wanted to put into the design.”

The half-shell dustbin fairing, can be removed, within a few minutes.  A headlight can then be placed into a special clamp for full road-worthiness. There are vents for the intake and for the brake discs.

Drawing your focus forward, the fairing pieces extending down from the fuel tank complete the look, and help hide the lines of the radiator.

The Ballistic Trident's instrument panel has been relocated to the fuel tank, keeping all the Brutale’s functionality.

The six-spoke wheels, made by Wukawa Industry, very much resemble the racing wheels used by Grand Prix machines from the sixties and seventies, and with courtesy of Pirelli Taiwan it has Diablo Superbike tires.

The front forks are Öhlins FGR 800 units, and TTX at the rear.  A Beringer four-piston brake setup is used with Beringer discs carried in custom machined rotors.

Winston Yeh decided to refine the Brutale’s exhaust system with a HP Corse exhaust, which keeps MV Agusta’s basic idea of a three exhaust pipe outlet which follows the shape of the rear wheel, and is exposed by the single-sided swingarm.

Custom design touches include new grips from Motogadget, HeChun custom seat and an understated black on black paint scheme.

The sheetmetal work on the rest of the body was completed by OneHandMade.
