Honda CB650R Rally by Honda Wingmotor
Honda dealers from Portugal and Spain took part in the 2020 Honda Garage Dreams Custom competition, which is a Manufacturer-backed customisation competition. There were 36 participants in all, and they were challenged to turn a standard CB650R into a unique custom. Honda Wingmotor from Lisbon, Portugal created a rally adventure custom bike honouring Paulo Gonçalves, the Portuguese veteran who died in the 2020 Dakar Rally, as well as Honda's first victory since 1989 by Ricky Brabec with his CRF450 Rally. This four cylinder road bike, now posing as a rally machine, is capable of taking on any off-road challenge. It retains its diamond-type steel chassis and its 95 hp in-line four-cylinder engine, improving its performance through a complete elevated Arrow exhaust system.
The Honda CB650R was stripped of its neo-café look which was replaced with an
adventure motorcycle package including a new front fender, tall rally windscreen
and headlight similar to that of the winning CRF450 Rally. A solo seat
upholstered in alcantara, Givi handguards, fork guards and header pipes
completed the package. The tank is the original of the CB650R, now with a decal on the tank, just below the gas cap, paying tributre to Gonçalves.
