Sabertooth WildCat

.

The Sabertooth Motorcycles saga began in late 2005. In the world of increasingly look-alike, feel-alike motorcycles, we saw a need for a new level of motorcycle for the experienced rider seeking a higher level of physical exhilaration and emotional satisfaction.

There is simply nothing to compare with the unforgettable riding sensation of a V8 powered motorcycle – its pure exhilaration, commanding performance and extraordinary smoothness. Yet nowhere on the landscape was a bike that paired the enhanced riding experience of a V8 motorcycle with a comparable level of quality and style – in other words, a motorcycle that looks (and lasts) every bit as good as it feels. And so a company was born.

Based in the USA, Sabertooth Motorcycles was started up in 2005, by one Ben Daniels. And now, the company has launched its WildCat range of motorcycles, which is powered by 5.0-litre Ford V8 engines. Yes, that’s right – 5000cc V8s. Did somebody mention the worldwide fuel crisis? Pooh! Talk about launching the right bike at the right time…

While the WildCat’s 350bhp V8 engine comes from Ford, the chassis, swingarm and bodywork is designed and built by Sabertooth themselves. The 470-kilo bike uses belt final drive and rides on 21-inch (front) and 18-inch (rear) wheels.

‘We saw a need for a new level of motorcycle for the experienced rider seeking a higher level of physical exhilaration and emotional satisfaction,’ says the Sabertooth website. ‘There is simply nothing to compare with the unforgettable riding sensation of a V8 powered motorcycle, its pure exhilaration, commanding performance and extraordinary smoothness,’ it adds.

Three variants of the WildCat are available, and prices range from US$35,000-45,000. the bikes come with a one-year unlimited mileage warranty on parts and labour.
