The Hero Xpulse 200 is the latest entrant in the budget adventure-tourer offerings in the Indian market. The Xpulse 200 offers a proper ADV look with high ground clearance, rugged looks and wire-spoke wheels. The Xpulse 200 comes with a high-mounted mudguard, LED headlamps and a long travel suspension up front. The front also features knuckle guards for the handlebars, further enhancing the rugged off-road looks of the Xpulse 200. The side and rear profile continue with the rugged looks, with high ground clearance, bash plate and a sculpted fuel tank with stylish body graphics.

The rear profile has an extended rear fender while also featuring LED tail lights and dual-purpose tyres. The Hero Xpulse 200 offers wide handlebars and neutral set footpegs, offering an upright riding position. The seats themselves are narrow, which can become uncomfortable over long distances.

The Hero Xpulse 200 features the same 199.6cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine seen on the Xtreme 200S and Xtreme 200R. It produces 18bhp at 8000rpm and 17.1Nm of torque at 6500rpm; mated to a five-speed gearbox. Hero offers the Xpulse 200 in either a carburettor or fuel-injected version.

The gearbox falls easily into place although it does feel a bit clunky. Highway rides aren’t exactly fun either, unless you cruise at around 80km/h. There is noticeable vibrations from the handlebars, especially near the redline. The best part of the Xpulse 200 though is the suspension, which makes light work of most of the road undulations. Off-road capabilities of the Xpulse 200 however is impressive.

The motorcycle takes everything in its stride and being lightweight, it allows the rider to easily maneuver through the tough sections without any issues.
