Honda SLR 650
A budget, stripped-down version of the NX650 Dominator, the SLR650 is biased more towards the street part of the Dominator's street/dirt package. A 48cm (19in) front wheel replaces the Dominator's 53cm (21in) part, and the seat height is lower. The SLR is lighter than the Dominator, due to the lack of a top fairing, slightly improving acceleration. However, the SLR was built in Spain, and inconsistent quality control is below Honda's usual high quality. For a cheap, simple roadster though, the SLR's grunty, low-maintenance engine and soft suspension are perfectly acceptable. The trail-styled tyres give reasonable grip and disc brakes front and rear allow rapid stopping. The SLR650 was replaced in 1999 by the FX650 Vigor.
