Honda ST 1300 Pan European
The Honda ST1300 Pan European is a comfortable cruiser designed with practicality in mind. Thanks to its versatile character the motorcycle can cope with a wide range of applications and its ergonomic design helps you ride hundreds of kilometers without any problem. When it comes to power, the Honda ST1300 Pan European is equipped with a capable engine that puts out more than enough power to help you running at three digit speeds all day long. The liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 16-valve, DOHC, 90º V-4 unit puts out a maximum torque of 117Nm at 6,500 rpm and 117 bhp at 8,000 rpm. All this power is kept in leash by a six speed transmission. The motorcycle is also fitted with a capable Combined Antilock Brake System which optimizes the balance of front and rear braking control helping you stop safer on slippery roads. There’s hardly a highway or by-way in
Europe that hasn’t been conquered by the coveted and
super-accomplished Pan-European. Its impressive V4 engine is
breathtakingly capable, delivering sporty blasts of acceleration
when you want them as well as the power to carry a full load for
long distances. Its elegant, aerodynamic bodywork shields you
from the elements and conceals ample capacity for luggage. The
unique adjustable seat is designed for all-day comfort. Low,
centralised mass makes the machine reassuringly stable, yet it,s
also nimble enough to negotiate city traffic and have some fun
on twisty roads. High-performance Super Sports suspension
systems smooth out bumpy surfaces while supreme control and
stopping performance comes from Honda’s innovative Combined-ABS.
Excellent fuel efficiency and a generous 29-litre tank make it
even easier for you to get on the road and stay there. The
Pan-European was designed to travel.
ST1300, The Favored Long-Haul Ride.
Review
The Red Velvet Cupcake
Power is abundant, and the V4 revs quite quickly. The redline comes earlier
than you expect, especially because the motor is so smooth. You get an extra
500 rpm before the rev limiter gently kicks in at about 9000 rpm. A bit
soft, though nicely controllable, off idle, the V4 gains speed nicely,
causing much of the motorcycle's heft to disappear. Gear selection isn't
critical, unless you are pushing the sport end of the ST's equation.
