Brough Superior SS 100 Lawrence Nefud Scrambler

.

The Brough Superior brand is currently owned by French businessman Thierry Henriette. Now the small motorcycle manufacturer has announced an exclusive model.

The new model is called the Nefud and appears as a scrambler with a certain off-road orientation.

105 years ago, the man who is synonymous with the Brough Superior name took part in a daring operation to capture Aqaba near the read sea. The exercise involved crossing the Nefud desert.

The operation was a success, and more than a century later the two names are once again reunited in the Brough Superior Lawrence Nefud scrambler.

The name Nefud is derived from a desert of the same name in the north of the Arabian Peninsula. It was close to him that Lawrence of Arabia achieved one of his greatest victories in 1917. Besides the name, this desert with its red sand also inspired the colors of the enigmatic Nefud.

Technically Nefud was also inspired by the Brough Superior SS100. The 88 degree, 997cc, 102bhp engine also gains a sump guard protection.

Wheels are 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear and both wheels are fitted with Michelin Anakee Wild tires. The hanging oil pan is behind a new protective plate. The headlamp protection is provided by a meshed cover that includes a small lamp shield. The ergonomics are optimized for off-road use with a high handlebar and lower footrests.
