The Lawrence is Brough Superior’s latest design and propels the century old
motorcycle house into the 21st century.
Lawrence of Arabia, also known as Thomas Edward Lawrence was an archaeologist,
diplomat, author, and army-officer in the Royal Air Force. He owned seven
Brough Superiors. They were so important to him that he used to write about them
in letters and in his books. Each of his Broughs held a name that was similar to
a royal lineage, going from George I to George VII. He tragically died
following a crash on one of his Brough Superior’s.
To honour him that made the brand famous, the latest Brough Superior revival
will name a special edition model the Lawrence.
Only 188 editions of this fascinating motorcycle will be produced. The number
188 is echoing the birth date of T.E. Lawrence: 1888.
The price to own this luxurious motorcycle is 66 000 euros (All Taxes Included).
This new model represents a milestone for Brough Superior. Inspired by the
mechanical architecture of the S.S.100, the Lawrence has unique curves that were
only possible to be created by using carbon fiber. The frame of the motorcycle
is in titanium, and its fork is a Fior type in aluminium.
The engine has entirely been developed internally by the Brough Superior
engineers. The production technology and the engineering skills that are
required to build this bike partly come from the aeronautical industry that is
very influential in the region of Toulouse, France.
Hand-built with the best materials available (titanium, carbon fiber,
aluminium), the Lawrence benefited the strong local aeronautical industry
network to be developed.
The bike will be released to the public in March.
Take your fellow adventurer on the open road, this modern roadster is
designed for two riders. This game-changing model is an ode to our past, and a
glimpse of our future.
T. E. Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia")
