Anyone over thirty will no doubt remember with a certain fondness the amazing Maicos from the late seventies and early eighties. The outrageous 490 that set the benchmark by which every brand was judged.

Well the big Maico is back with a bang. Believed to be the most powerful two stroke 500cc production bike on the market the new model weighs in at 3kg less than the 08 450 Honda and produces an awesome 67 B.H.P. in standard form. A little tuning can easily see this raised to 72 B.H.P. and it still delivers the power like it always did, smooth and right from the bottom!. The handling is taken care of by White Power, Marzzochi and Reiger with hi end products being used in all other areas of the design and manufacture.

And if that isn’t enough, Maico now produce a two stroke 700cc Motocrosser to order, rumored to produce around 80 B.H.P.

With the 250 and 320 as entry level models it really is a case of dial your own power!
