The X10 is born, the latest heir of the glorious Piaggio GT line: a true flagship on two wheels, for those looking for maximum comfort in a maxi scooter with all-Italian elegance.

Electric adjustment of the rear suspension, dual ABS and ASR system, parking brake integrated into the stand, everything about the new X10 is designed to ensure comfort, maximum functionality and total safety. And then there is the on-board computer with LCD screen, backlit controls, large windshield, triple glove compartment and a generous boot.

With the new Piaggio X10 travel is an everyday luxury.

Piaggio emerges as the leader in the Gran Turismo sector with a proposal that represents the highest evolution of the Italian "maxi" concept.

The new X10 is the latest heir to Piaggio's long GT tradition which for two decades has influenced the trends in this prestigious market segment. A success that can be measured in more than 400,000 vehicles sold in various versions of true industry landmarks such as Hexagon, X8, X9 and XEvo.

Piaggio X10 is a true flagship on two wheels with its elegant design, characterized by an innovative alternation of complex surfaces and volumes; a new generation of vehicle designed to meet the most advanced mobility requirements: performance benchmark combined with great comfort and handling, to deal with longer distances in total comfort, but also for smoothly moving around the city in complete safety.

A proposal that further evolves and exalts the concept of "travelling living room": elegant, exclusive and fully equipped as standard with a rich endowment and numerous details designed to please the eye, but always with maximum functionality.

Piaggio X10 provides the urban commuter with an excellent load capacity, thanks to its large helmet compartment - with mat, courtesy light, 12V socket, and able to comfortably accommodate two flip up helmets - and three glove-boxes in the leg shield back plate.

Offered in three different modern, eco friendly and high performance engines, - 125, 350 and 500 - Piaggio X10 is able to meet the daily mobility requirements of the most diverse users, offering a wide range of customization possibilities.

A unique style

A comfortable and elegant look for a design that is modern and classic at the same time, looking to the future but also conserving and further developing the distinctive and authentically Italian style of the Piaggio family. The new X10 stands out for a look that succeeds in being original without sacrificing harmony and where the utmost attention to detail pleases the eye, while ensuring maximum functionality.

Attention is captured by the front headlight assembly that contains the poly-ellipsoidal element of the high-beam headlight, the two complex surface parabolas of the low-beam lights and turn indicators and that, crossing the front over the entire width, makes the "look" of the new Piaggio X10 unique.

Inside a light frame represents - and sublimates - the already famous hexagonal logo which for years has characterized the frontal view of the Piaggio models: a tribute to tradition, but in a modern way. An effect achieved by placing, behind a frosted surface, 6 high-efficiency LEDs whose light, as it spreads out, generates a continuous beam which also serves as the daylight running light.

Another detail that links the X10 to the latest models in the Piaggio range is the metal insert that horizontally covers the entire vehicle, creating a nice contrast with the parts in the colour of the bodywork; an element of style that fits into the dominant "wave" motif that gives dynamism to the side view, from the mudguard to the tail.

Soft surfaces alternate with harder and more decisive signs, resulting in an alternation of concave and convex, smooth and flowing lines, that exudes power and dynamism.

The rear is characterized by the limited height difference between the rider and passenger seats, then finishes in a truncated tail, where the two large handles stand out and that ties in perfectly to the side line. A choice that has the advantage of combining the functionality of an easy climb on board for passengers of all sizes with the beauty of the rear view, enhanced by the presence of the large 150/70 tyre and the horizontally developed, car-inspired dual headlight assembly- two slender lines of LEDs protected by a transparent glass - and complemented by the satin moulding on which Piaggio is imprinted.

Once on board the Piaggio X10, the view is dominated by the rich and complete instrument panel: a synthesis of style and technology that is similar in form and content to the instrument panel of a luxury sedan.

Between the two large circular dials for the speedometer and rpm indicator - backlit in blue - is placed the 4-inch LCD screen of the onboard computer, which is also blue.

On the display a variety of information can be displayed including that relating to the average and instantaneous fuel consumption, average and maximum speeds, autonomy, fuel level and cooling liquid temperature, and even travel time, clock, ambient temperature with ice alarm, indicator of the double-map of the engine control unit, level of electric shock absorber adjustment, trip counter with two partials and battery voltage.

An upper lid contains the 11 warning lights that indicate the operation of high-beams, turn indicators, reserve, oil pressure, warning (injection), immobilizer, ABS, ASR, hazard and starter inhibition.

An absolute novelty in the scooter world are the backlit controls on the handlebars, a solution which also guarantees prompt and effective recognition at night of controls on gauge blocks, for better safety.

To the right we find the start-up button, the button to select mapping (on 350), the engine stop command key and the mode key to navigate through the information on the on-board computer.

To the left are the acoustic buzzer button, the turn indicators one and the high-beam/low-beam/flashing command.

The double up and down button for adjusting the shock absorber (for the 500) and the ASR and the hazard buttons are instead placed in the leg shield back plate, along with the commands for opening the saddle and the fuel flap, which, placed on the centre tunnel allows for easy access without having to descend from the vehicle.

The broad and comfortable saddle of the X10, located just 760 mm above ground, is the result of a careful ergonomic study aimed at giving the rider a seat that is entirely comfortable and stable.

The longitudinal adjustment of the lumbar cushion allows both to vary the space available to the passenger and to provide optimum support to the lumbar area of the rider.

Comfortable and practical seat cover.

On the new the X10, maximum comfort is also ensured by the riding position - designed to allow the rider to stretch his legs on the spacious side footrests, whose antislip coverage extends to cover the lower part of the side leg shield back plate - and the large windscreen which, thanks to the innovative and welcoming double bend profile and the lower anti-turbulence slot, optimizes the aerodynamics of the vehicle, effectively protecting the rider and passenger from the direct impact of air.

The protection comes complete with two glass appendices that run along the side profile of the shield: studied in the wind tunnel, they effectively deflect air from the entire side.

The new Piaggio X10 also offers the maximum in terms of load capacity.

In the leg shield back plate there is a central compartment among the largest in its class -where the comfortable 12V mains power socket is located- and two comfortable drawers for objects, ideal for keeping your keys, wallet or highway service coupon at hand.

The drawer on the left also has a USB port which you can use to power your mobile phone or navigation system

Lifting the saddle, kept open by a practical piston system, we then find a more than generous housing: an authentic boot, equipped with anti-shock mat and a courtesy light, able to comfortably accommodate two flip up helmets.

Piaggio X10 500 Model Highlights

Engine

Elegant and cozy, comfortable and functional, but also safe, fun and high-performance.

For lovers of high-performance is dedicated the engine 500.

The Piaggio 492 cc engine is in fact capable of expressing a maximum power of 40 CV and a maximum torque of over 42 Nm, values that place it at the top of its class.

The dual spark plug system has also made it possible to optimise combustion inside the cylinder, with a decrease in noise and gas emissions.

The result is a flexible, high-performance engine, full even at low and medium engine speeds, but due to the "closed loop" fuel injection system equipped with lambda probe on the exhaust and 3-way catalytic converter, reduces emissions to a minimum.

Chassis and brake system

The new Piaggio X10 adopts first-order chassis solutions that favour comfort and stability for long distances without having to compromise in terms of agility, manoeuvrability and ease of riding. On the double-cradle chassis made of high strength steel, on the front there works a traditional type fork with a travel of 115 mm, for the benefit of better comfort on any type of road surface.

On the 500, however, a rear single shock absorber has been chosen with electrically adjustable preloading, located on the right side of the vehicle, which receives the load of the wheel through a lever. The preloading, which optimizes the structure depending on the load and the type of riding desired, can be adjusted without descending from the vehicle by simply turning the up and down command, located in the leg shield back plate and viewable on the instrument using a digital display.
The 5-spoke wheel rims are 15" in front (tyre 120/70) and 13" to the rear (tyre 150/70).

Piaggio X10 is equipped with a sophisticated braking system with dual disc of 280 mm on the front and single disc of 240 mm at the rear, standard equipped with the combined braking system, and, on option, the ABS/ ASR double system (Acceleration Slippery Regulation).

Thanks to the combined braking, the right lever operates on just one of the front callipers, while with the left you can simultaneously operate the other front calliper and the rear one. A divider valve calibrates the pressure of the front brake depending on the rear one, so as to allow greater braking performance while at the same time avoiding locking the front wheel early on difficult surfaces, which do not guarantee optimal handling.

In the version with ABS and ASR, each wheel is equipped with a speed detection system - a sensor and tone wheel - which instantaneously measures its velocity and deceleration compared to that of the vehicle.

The sensors communicate with a 3-channel hydraulic control unit that activates the ABS system when one of the two wheels decelerates sharply compared to the vehicle, preventing locking of the wheels and ensuring stable and efficient braking of the vehicle even on surfaces with a low coefficient of friction.

The ASR also uses the electronics and the ABS sensors to compare the speed of rotation of the two wheels. When the sensors sense an excessive speed of the rear wheel, the control unit intervenes (first on the advance and then, if needed, also on the injection) to prevent skidding and avoid losing control of the vehicle.

The ASR system can be deactivated via a button on the leg shield back plate, to ensure the possibility of disengaging even in special conditions - hill starts, on gravel, etc. - but is activated again automatically at each ignition of the panel.

Another security feature of the new Piaggio X10 is the presence of the parking brake built into the side stand: at each extraction of the crutch the brake is activated automatically, maintaining the X10 stable and secure also when stopping in non-flat terrain.
