And inevitably there will be those who will want to cross the Mojave faster than others ......... For them, BMW will provide a special "R", the "Desert Sled R" to increase off-road performance significantly.
Changes will not be trivial, and will cover changes to wheels and suspension, as well as various modifications to the electronics of the bike. With all this redesign the Desert Sled whilst certainly not be a pure competition motorcycle, will be a bike with incredible off-road performance.
These improvements will come at a price and will have to be carried out in close cooperation with BMW as the BMW warranty will still remain intact.
So whilst some usability is compromised, the bike gains in looks and and aggressiveness.
