LT Concept Designs by Lee Thompson
Lee Thompson of LT Concept Design, is a motorcycle concept one man designer who lives for 2 wheeled designs. He tries to cover as many aspects and markets of bikes with his concepts. Below are two of his concepts and with a brief description from him: Moto Guzzi Secolo Le Mans. "With Moto Guzzi nearing their 100 year centenary is it not time to provide us with a sports bike again. The Secolo (Century) Le Mans is a concept I designed which uses the new block engine. With more than enough road usable power I feel an 1198cc possibly with supercharger could develop a healthy torque of 126Nm/93lb-ft and 112Kw/150bhp + that would approach a 175mph/280kph. With strong pulling power throughout the rev range the flexibility and sports minded new machine is by many Guzzi fans wished for, and a Flagship Moto Guzzi range is needed to enhance the current unexciting and limited offerings. I have illustrated such a bike in traditional Le Mans two tone and textured red and also in Blue/Blue-Green."
Excelsior "Redcoat" and "Patriot". "Excelsior is sadly no longer making motorcycles since 1965. They used to produce a range with their own styling, frame and running gear but would use a tried and trusted engine of other manufacturers. Using their philosophy and what they would do today I married a on trend carbon fire cased type styled panels, but exposed the engine to make a statement and hope to excite the bike fans and riders by incorporating a real bike visual presence. The engine I chose and feel receives year by year less visual acclaim is the Triumph 2.3l 3 cylinder Rocket 3 engine. With slight re-tuning for a wider power band of about 160bhp, with a stylish exhaust, wheels, body work and graphics, would see this low rider influenced cruiser as different. The “Redcoat” name would suit the image on this side of the pond, but I took into consideration and offer alternate wheels, graphics and “Patriot” named American version that does not share the chain link type leg protector/fairing the “Redcoat” European option supports."
