Royal Enfield Meteor 350
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is the first model from their brand-new 350 cc range. The Meteor represents the eternal essence of riding, the spirit of the cruise; with classic contours and timeless design cues, it is an easy thoroughbred cruiser, ready for the open highway and for meeting the challenges of urban commute with equal ease.
Royal Enfield’s core philosophy of making simple, fun, accessible motorcycles has made them a canvas for personalisation and customisation for years. Royal Enfield riders deserve to express themselves and their individuality through their motorcycle. With the Make It Yours initiative featuring vast personalisation options from day one, it’s easier and engaging to express your individuality while enjoying a unique motorcycling experience.
At the heart of the Meteor is the all-new air-oil cooled, 349cc, SOHC engine with a characteristic long stroke and electronic fuel injection system producing 20.2hp at 6,100rpm and 19.9 lb-ft of torque. Royal Enfield says replacing the traditional pushrod engine design with an overhead cam and the addition of a primary balancer shaft combined with a five-speed gearbox lets the engine rev higher while minimising vibration.
The new 350cc engine is housed within a all new lighter, stiffer and more durable double-cradle frame. The front suspension are 41mm telescopic forks and the twin shocks at the rear do offer six steps of preload. Braking is with two-piston floating calliper clamping a single 300 mm diameter brake disc while the back uses a single-piston calliper and 270 mm disc with two-channel ABS as standard. Wheels are tubeless 19 inch front and 17 inch at the rear. The Meteor 350 has a fuel capacity of 15 litre and with a kerb weight of 191 kg.
New to the Meteor 350 is a combination analogue and LCD instrument display with a secondary LCD display to the side. The secondary panel connects to the rider’s smartphone and allows for display of navigation information. The new Meteor 350 will come with the brand’s first Bluetooth navigation system powered by Google Maps. The new Meteor 350 will be available in three variants with colour options of Yellow, Red and Black for the Meteor Fireball 350, Red and Blue for the Stellar variant and Brown and Blue for the Supernova.
