Benelli 1200GT

.

This Benelli 1200GT is the biggest Benelli yet thanks to a 1,209cc derivative of the Tornado three-cylinder engine. It’s tuned for torque rather than power, with a peak of 134 hp that matches its most obvious existing rival, BMW’s R 1250 RT. Torque measures a claimed 88.5 pound-feet at a relatively low 6,500 rpm.

At 338 kilograms (745 pounds) ready to ride, the Benelli is a full-scale luxury tourer, with all the kit you’d expect and quite a lot that you wouldn’t. Along with familiar modern conveniences like keyless start and a color TFT display sandwiched by conventional analog gauges, heated bars and seats, and an electrically adjustable screen, it also gets less familiar tech including real-time tire pressure readouts on the dash, and electric mirrors that can be adjusted from the left bar controls, including the ability to fold away to get through narrow gaps.

There are also front and rear hi-def cameras that can wirelessly download their footage to your phone, an electric reverse gear to help maneuver its mass, power locks for the luggage, LED lights including cornering lamps, a height-adjustable rider’s seat, and the promise that a much larger, 12.3-inch TFT dashboard is in the works as an optional upgrade. The bike’s mechanical parts include a tubular steel frame with adjustable KYB suspension at both ends plus Brembo brakes with Bosch ABS.
