From a press release issued by Benelli:
The new BKX 250 symbolises Benelli's adventurous spirit,
designed for you to travel about in freedom, take new roads and satisfy your
all-round desire for motorcycling. A practical and lightweight quarter-litre,
designed to serve as a valuable companion both on the road and on more dusty
trails, where the BKX 250 is able to handle itself at its best and offer the
rider maximum enjoyment. A compact motorbike, also designed for the younger
generation of motorcyclists who want to enter the world of adventure
motorcycling, but choose a bike that is easy and comfortable to handle, that
never puts you in difficulty even when standing up, and that is really practical
even for beginners.
The BKX 250 is a two-wheeler created right in Pesaro, in the
heart of the Benelli Style Centre, with a simple yet refined look that is
guaranteed to catch your eye at first sight. This is also thanks to an extremely
original headlamp assembly, which at the front features a modern and
eye-catching DRL design, shared with the road version, while at the rear there
is a “combo” solution where the parking, stop and turn indicator lights are
integrated.
The BKX 250 therefore offers compact shapes and dynamic lines,
for a truly multifunctional motorbike that can be used in all conditions. This
is also thanks to its well-established 250cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke
single-cylinder engine (already seen on models from the range with the same
displacement), to which updates have been made to the cooling system and intake
and exhaust systems. In fact, the installation of this engine in a new type of
vehicle has made it necessary to fit a new airbox connected to the intake
system, with a 37 mm diameter throttle body, and a new exhaust system with a
long manifold, benefiting the torque curve, to achieve a more substantial
delivery. Also new is the cooling system with twin vertical radiators,
seamlessly integrated with the new design of the front of the vehicle. The
engine has a maximum power output of 25.8 hp (19 kW) at 9250 rpm and 21 Nm (2.1
kgm) at 8000 rpm. The timing features double overhead camshaft with 4 valves per
cylinder, wet clutch and a 6-speed gearbox.
Like its road-going sibling, the BKX 250 features a chassis
designed to maximise the bike's handling, with a steel trellis frame capable of
ensuring smooth operation on any route taken. Suspension at the front consists
of an upside-down fork with 41millimetre diameter legs and 180-millimetre
travel, while at the rear there is a swinging arm and a monoshock with
progressive linkage adjustable in the spring preload and 180-millimetre travel
at the wheel.
The braking system has a single 280 mm diameter floating disc
with four-piston calliper on the front and a 240 mm diameter disc with
single-piston floating calliper on the back. The spoked wheels with aluminium
alloy hub and rim are 19” at the front and 17” at the rear, and respectively
fitted with 100/90 and 140/80 tyres. The LCD instrumentation offers excellent
visibility in all riding conditions, while the 13.5-litre fuel tank offers a
range of over 400 km. And for any possible needs while travelling, a convenient
USB socket is also available.
The BKX 250 will be available at all Benelli dealers from mid
2023. The price is yet to be determined. A 125 cc version will also be available
for some markets.
Any corrections or more information on these motorcycles will be kindly appreciated.
