Ducati 888SPS
Ducati introduced the 120hp 888SPS (Sport Production Special) in 1992, the rarest of all the 851/888 street-bikes. It was a true race replica in every respect. The engine was virtually identical to the 1991 Corsa but with slightly more power due to larger valves and a higher lift cam. The SPS featured a quick-release carbon fiber fuel tank, seat and silencers as well as a racing radiator without fan cooling to further reduce weight. The frame was borrowed from the 851 Strada but incorporated revised foot peg mounts and bent outer tubes. Full Ohlins suspension greatly improved handling and Brembo gold series brakes provided stopping power close to that of the Corsa.
