Ducati Monster 1200S Black
Ducati launched the Monster 1200 S for 2020 with a new Black on Black livery. The Monster 1200 S will also remain available in the traditional Ducati Red.
The new Black on Black colour alternates matte black elements with others painted in glossy black and with streaks of red, which enhances the character of this naked bike, its sporty lines and elegance, which always has been synonymous with the Monster.
The Monster 1200 S engine is the Testastretta 11° DS twin-cylinder, 1198 cm3 with 4 valves per cylinder, liquid cooled and produces 145bhp at 9250rpm. Euro 4 type-approved (only for countries where Euro 4 standard applies) it is the structural element of the suspension set-up with coupling points for the trellis frame.
The cutting-edge materials and technologies of the Testastretta 11° DS ensure particularly long maintenance intervals. With an oil change required every 15,000 km or 12 months and valve clearance check every 30,000 km, the values are of absolute reference for its category.
Thanks to the elliptical throttle body and the dedicated impressive side-mounted 2-1 staggered shotgun exhaust, the second generation Testastretta 11° DS engine generates a power which can be compared with that of a 3/4 cylinder engine and is able to reach great performance levels.
The Ride-by-Wire (RbW) system is an electronic interface between the Monster's twistgrip and engine, which manages an ideal power response depending on the riding mode selected.
The 1200 S comes with fully-adjustable Öhlins suspension all around, Brembo M50 monoblock front brake calipers, forged aluminum three-spoke Y-rim wheels and a carbon mudguard.
