Gilera Nexus 300 is combination of the amazing
chassis from its larger brother with the latest fuel-injected engine and a
fresh new style. The new Nexus 300 is the ultimate expression of the Gilera
passion for performance.The 15″/14″ wheels and 300cc QUASAR engine give the
package the performance credentials it deserves.
As with its larger brother, the Nexus 300 offers performance and style but not
at the expense of practicality. With a generous underseat compartment which
can hold a full-face helmet, a well-padded seat and an adjustable windscreen
the Nexus 300 can not only hold its own with smaller sports scooters around
town but it can compete with the very best on the motorway.
Gilera Nexus 300’s sport performance comes from its new engine, the new Quasar
278 cc.4 valve engine, liquid coolled and electronic fuel injection developing
more torque (23 Nm against 20.2 from the 250) at a significantly lower speed
(6000 rpm against 6500) and 22.4 HP at 7,250 rpm of power. Engine delivers
smoother power, more decisive acceleration and a fuller response to the
throttle.

ENGINE. A REVOLUTION IN THE 300 CLASS.
The new Nexus 300 introduces all the sporting vitality of the Nexus family
into the middleweight scooter category. Compared to the 250 cc version that it
replaces, the new Quasar 4 valve engine features liquid cooling and electronic
fuel injection and new bore and stroke values (75 x 63mm). The new engine
develops more torque (23 Nm against 20.2 from the 250) at a significantly
lower speed (6000 rpm against 6500).
The result is smoother power, more decisive acceleration and a fuller response
to the
throttle. So whether you are riding around town, from one set of traffic
lights to the next, or out for a weekend trip or long journey, the Gilera
Nexus 300 has all the multifunctional flair you need, and combines the
practicality of an urban commuter with the excitement and sparkle of a true
sports scooter.
DESIGN. ITALIAN SPORTS PERFORMANCE.
With the introduction of the new 300 cc engine, the Gilera Nexus has also
evolved in design to combine improved protection with typically Italian sports
performance.
The Nexus 300’s modern lines focus on the front of the scooter to create a
dynamic, sporty look while the slender, agile tail conveys a clear impression
of the Nexus’ exuberant nature.
The headlight cluster maintains the Gilera family look and gives the Nexus 300
a particularly penetrating profile. The dashboard incorporates analog and
digital instruments with elegant red backlighting. On top of the generous
front shield, the windshield can be adjusted in heightto guarantee unrivalled
comfort in all weather.
The seat has been completely redesigned using new materials for greater
comfort and a perfectly ergonomic sitting position.A broad and comfortable
platform allows you to adopt three different riding postures and remain
relaxed at all times. The passenger also has two generously sized fold-away
footrests. The 34 litre under-seat storage compartment is big enough to hold
two helmets (one full-face and one semi-jet), confirming the rational design
of the Nexus 300. Because though conceived to delivery maximum riding thrills,
the Gilera Nexus never forgets that it also excels as an urban scooter.
PERFORMANCE CHASSIS.
The chassis of the Gilera Nexus 300 has evolved to keep pace with the
increased engine power.The most important development is the larger, 15” front
wheel that offers obvious benefits in terms of road holding and precision.
The Nexus 300 uses the same frame as the powerful 500 cc version, made
entirely from high strength tubular steel. Rear suspension comes in the form
of two robust and dependable shock absorbers with three spring preload
settings for optimum damping and control. At the front the Nexus 300 is
equipped with a hydraulic telescopic fork with 35 mm stanchions. The braking
system features a 260 mm disc and a two-piston floating caliper at the front
and a 240 mm disc with a two-piston floating caliper at the rear. The front
wheel, now 15” in diameter, is equipped with a 120/70 tyre. The 14” rear wheel
boasts a sporty, large section 140/60 tyre.
COLOUR SCHEMES.
The Nexus 300 comes in a choice of three colour schemes: sporty and
uncompromising Dragon Red, and sporty but elegant Graphite Black and Ambition
Grey.
ACCESSORIES.
In keeping with its ‘dual role’ of sports scooter and comfortable commuter,
the Gilera Nexus 300 is accompanied by a range of accessories to make it even
more usable and functional.
