Harley Davidson FLRT Freewheeler
The Freewheeler® puts stripped down, custom style into an easy handling frame that lets you roll with the confidence three wheels gives to a rider. You get classic cruiser lines and styling details, like bobtail rear fenders, slash cut pipes, chrome headlight nacelle, 12-inch mini ape hangers and Enforcer aluminum wheels. You also get enough cargo space to hold two full-face helmets. The acceleration is instant thanks to the low-end torque of the all-new Milwaukee-Eight™ 107 engine. And the 49mm front forks and adjustable rear suspension make the ride smooth. They say good things come in threes, and Freewheeler is the proof. The Freewheeler® trike represents iconic Harley-Davidson hotrod-inspired styling and attitude that just happens to be on three wheels. Visually and physically smaller than the Tri Glide® Ultra, its rear section is pulled forward making the overall vehicle length 76.2 mm shorter. The Freewheeler® offers a confidence-inspiring stance and a low-profile trunk that adds to its hotrod style. Trike The Harley-Davidson® Trike platform brings original-equipment design, quality and service to the three-wheel motorcycle segment. Trike model utilizes a frame and associated chassis structure and geometry engineered specifically to handle the loads generated by the steering forces and weight of a three-wheel vehicle. Milwaukee-Eight™ 107 engine, the most powerful, coolest-running motor we’ve ever built Rear exhaust pipe and catalytic converters repositioned away from the passenger for less heat and a more comfortable ride Precision oil-cooling for cooler running and consistent performance Improved fuel economy to give you more out of every tank of gas Paint color options including Custom color MODEL UNIQUE FEATURES Style
Fit Function Performance AVAILABLE OPTIONS Engine Heritage Their iconic look, distinctive sound and massive torque make them instantly recognizable, but the Milwaukee-Eight® 107 and Milwaukee-Eight® 114 engines take the Harley-Davidson® V-Twin to a place it’s never been. They’re the most powerful, coolest-running motors we’ve ever built. Smoother, stronger and more durable. With crisper throttle response and truer, cleaner sound. Four valves per cylinder, single chain-driven cam, dual spark plugs, counter-balanced and rubber mounted. Developed and proven over countless miles and millions of hours. Every single part is new, engineered to give you more performance and more of the feeling you want from an engine. Today, it’s a whole new ride.
Control There’s no bigger factor in the quality of your ride than the confidence you have in your machine. Giving you more of it is our never-ending quest. For proof just look at the improvements made over the past few years. The quick throttle response and passing power of the all-new Milwaukee-Eight™ engine, the responsive handling of the all-new double bending valve front suspension and easily-adjustable emulsion rear shocks, the massive stopping power of Reflex® dual disc linked Brembo® brakes with ABS, Daymaker™ LED headlamps and fog lamps, brighter turn signals and brake lights, the beefy steering head and front forks. It all makes for a machine that lets you pass faster, stop quicker, take curves tighter, and see and be seen better. Long story short, it all adds up to make you a better rider. Feel Starting decades ago, when early riders bolted plastic windshields to their machines and began crisscrossing the country, the Harley-Davidson® touring motorcycle has already gone places no one could have imagined at the beginning. But we never stop working, or riding, to discover what comes next. We get in the saddle for countless miles, experiencing every condition Mother Nature can throw at us. We talk to riders all over the world. Then we put all the learnings to use. When you feel the ride on a new Harley® touring motorcycle, you’ll understand why there is no substitute for the way we design and build motorcycles. From the response of the Milwaukee- Eight™ engine to the smooth airflow, passenger space, seat textures, ergonomic hand controls, heat management and everything else a rider or passenger can feel out there, it’s all dialed in. Hit the road and do a little country crisscrossing of your own. You’ll come back with a smile. Style When we set out to design a Harley-Davidson® touring machine, you know we’re aiming high. These are not just motorcycles, they’re part of the American landscape. There’s a standard to uphold. Through all the miles of testing, and the countless hours we endure to improve the way a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle works and feels, we never take our eyes off the other thing that separates a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle from any other motorcycle on the road: The Look. For example, check out the new Milwaukee-Eight™ engine mounted in the touring frame. We put as much work into making it look like a piece of mechanical art as we put into making it deliver more power, sound better and run cooler. Let your eyes take a slow ride over the rest of the machine. You see classic Harley-Davidson style and a sleek modern look come through at the same time. As up-to-date as the weather report. As timeless as the road is endless. ENGINE The All-New Milwaukee-Eight™ Engine The sound of the Harley-Davidson® 45-degree V-Twin rings through the history of motorcycling in an unbroken line stretching back to 1909. Each one improving on the one before it. Iconic. Durable. Unmistakable in their sound. Unparalleled in their muscular look. Unmatched in the feeling they deliver to the rider. And now we’re proud to introduce the most powerful Harley-Davidson engines ever built: The all-new Milwaukee-Eight™ 107 and Milwaukee-Eight™ 114 engines. The next generation Harley-Davidson® V-Twin comes to our touring line. The next era of power, performance and innovation has been forged. CONTROL All-New Milwaukee-Eight™ 107 Engine At the heart of the Harley-Davidson® touring line this year, you find the most powerful, coolest-running engines we’ve ever built. The Milwaukee-Eight™ 107 V-Twin is smoother, stronger and durable. With crisper throttle response and truer, cleaner sound. Four valves per cylinder, single chain-driven cam, dual spark plugs, counter-balanced and rubber mounted. Developed and proven over countless miles and millions of hours. Not a single mechanical part remains from the Twin Cam engine that preceded them. Today, it’s a whole new ride. Milwaukee-Eight™ 107 Engine Overview Here are eight ways the new Milwaukee-Eight™ 107 engine gives you a better ride*: More Power- Bigger cylinders, four-valve cylinder heads and dual spark plugs deliver 10% more torque and more power throughout the rev range with no net weight gain. Better Fuel Economy**- The power comes with improved fuel economy to give you more out of every tank of gas. Heat Management- Precision oil or water cooling for cooler running and consistent performance, from stop-and-go traffic to highway speeds. More Passenger Comfort- Positions for the rear exhaust pipe and catalytic converters provide a more comfortable ride. More Charging Power- A charging system with 50% more power at idle to make easy work of the demands modern touring features put on an electrical system. Smoother Running- The counter-balancing system, rubber mounts, lower idle speed and dual knock sensors for more precise timing control and smoother running from idle to top gear. Less Maintenance-The valve train requires no adjustment no matter how many years or miles you ride. Narrow Primary- The narrower primary drive gives your left foot a straighter, easier reach to the ground, for an easier lift off and more control at stoplights. Compared to 2016 models. Compared to 2016 models. Based on estimates from laboratory exhaust emissions tests specified by EPA, not during on road riding. Actual mileage and fuel economy will vary depending on bike model and configuration, how you ride/maintain your bike, road conditions, and other factors. 6-Speed Cruise Drive® Transmission You want a ride that rumbles—not begs for mercy—when you lean on it a little. The 6-Speed Cruise Drive® transmission provides smooth, quiet shifting and reduces engine speed on the highway, so you get a better match between engine turnover and road speed. It's a rare ride when a bike responds like this, and a low growl goes a long way when you're opening up the road ahead. Steering Head and Front Forks Whether it’s a big sweeping curve or a set of tight turns, getting through the corners just got better. We stiffened up the front end and increased the fork diameter to 49mm, an increase of 18 percent. The responsiveness is dialed in. Plus a steering damper controls feedback from the road. So when you're out with your bagger buddies, you'll stay right at the front of the pack. Three Wheel Frame Design Trikes are bound to ride a little differently than two-wheeled machines. But when they're done right, they have a joy of their own. Harley-Davidson uses legendary engineering and ride dynamics to keep you comfortable and connected to the road. This three-wheeled pioneer is built from the ground up for maximum handling. The frame and chassis structure is engineered to specifically handle the steering forces and weight of a three-wheel vehicle. And we defy you find a more comfortable ride on the touring circuit from two to four to eighteen wheels. Dunlop® Harley-Davidson® Series Blackwall Tires The Freewheeler® model rides on bias front and radial back Dunlop® Harley-Davidson® Series blackwall tires. Dunlop® Multi-Tread™ technology uses harder compounds at the center and softer on the sides for a tire that still knows how to knuckle down on corners. Perfect for making this bike agile on every curvy stretch of road. And the way it feels going through an abrupt off-camber turn will put a grin on your face that'll last to the next state line. Dual Disc Front and Rear Brakes Keeping your mind clear and soaking up the freedom of the open road means not fretting about your ride. Especially when it comes to stopping. High performance, sleek design, the dual disc brakes feature 6-piston fixed calipers grabbing on floating rotors for superior stopping power. Rear to Front Linked Brakes No doubt about it, there are times riding when you need to haul things down in a hurry. That’s why the Freewheeler® model comes standard with rear to front linked brakes. When the rear brake is applied the system also applies the front brake for maximum stopping power. However, the front brake is independent so you can use it without applying and brake to the rear. No matter how good you are, this will make you a better rider. Electric Reverse with Handlebar-Mounted Control We know you expect the ultimate performance from the ultimate Harley-Davidson® touring machine, so we make sure to deliver. Case in point: this electric reverse puts convenient control at your fingertips, for confident, easy movement for parking, loading, close-quarters maneuvering, or any situation where only going one way is not an option. FEEL Reduced Reach Comfort Stitched Seat The seat on the Freewheeler® model moves the rider up 1" closer to the controls for an easier reach to the bars. And its one-piece, two-up stitched construction means it keeps you good to go for hours. We spent a lot of hours getting the comfort, position and feel exactly right because we know how many hours riders are going to spend using it. Passenger Grab Rails The Freewheeler® model is sporting a pair of wide diameter grab rails for your passenger. They're easy to find without looking down, and easy to grip. The feeling is sturdy, safe and secure. So you can let the Milwaukee-Eight™ 107 engine rumble knowing your passenger has an excellent hand hold. Assist & Slip Hydraulic Clutch Clutch effort goes way down on the Freewheeler® motorcycle. Thanks to the Assist & Slip hydraulic clutch, you can ride all day through stop-and-go traffic without wearing out your hand and forearm. Foot-Operated Parking Brake The parking brake on the Freewheeler® model couldn’t be any simpler to find or operate. It’s right there by your left foot. When you want to lock in, you push it down. When it’s time to take off again, you give it another push. And a light has been added to the gauges to alert you when your parking brake is engaged. Full-Length Footboards & Toe/Heel Gear Shifts Your boots were made for riding—any way you see fit. Our full-length footboards boast a time-tested, tried-and-true design and rubber isolation for a comfortable ride, while the height-adjustable passenger boards add another level of customizable comfort for your riding partner. And for shifting gears, you can use either the traditional toe-shift or the even easier, more convenient heel-shift. It might take a few rides, but once you've gotten used to the smooth shifting rhythm, you'll never give it up. Unique Trunk System The trunk on the Freewheeler® model is unique to the Freewheeler. It's a one-of-a-kind design that opens left to right (with one hand) and extends the entire length of the body for a clean look. It easily accommodates two full-face helmets. Looks great. Works great. One-Touch Design Philosophy Here’s the rule we laid down for every compartment cover and trunk lid on our touring line: if it doesn’t open with the single touch of a button or one hand, while wearing gloves, it doesn’t go on the motorcycle. Because in all our conversations with all the riders we talked to over the eight years we were rebuilding these motorcycles from the ground up, we didn’t encounter a single individual who wanted to have to put something on the ground before he could store it in a saddlebag. Air Adjustable Rear Shocks With air-adjustable suspension that comes standard, you can dial in your ride to accommodate heavier or lighter payloads, battle unexpected road conditions or simply set it to how you like to roll. The lighter the load, the softer you can go by decreasing the air pressure a bit, or increase the air pressure for a more firm ride. There's a convenient air valve for quick adjusting. It's all about rider and passenger comfort and setting your bike to fit your taste—the easy way. Standard Battery Charging Harness No question a battery charging harness is a must-have on a motorcycle. Now it’s standard. So you don’t have to waste even the ten minutes it takes to install one on some sunny Saturday when you could be riding. STYLE Seamless Styling and Matching Paint This three-wheeled pioneer is designed, developed and tested to the highest standards of the Motor Company and backed by over a hundred years of touring mastery. This is not a bolt-on, aftermarket Trike kit. It's engineered and road-tested as a whole. Every inch is integrated for comfort, cargo and confidence. From the smooth, classically designed lines to the front-to-rear matching paint, the Freewheeler® model has the bloodlines of a true Harley-Davidson® motorcycle through and through. Pure Harley-Davidson Styling You can identify the all-new Milwaukee-Eight™ 107 engine from 25 feet away. The racing scoop style of the air cleaner is all it takes to see that this is the new Harley-Davidson power plant. But when you look a little closer, you’ll notice that the things that are good about the authentic, air-cooled look of the Harley-Davidson® V-Twin are alive and well. It’s a jewel machined out of metal, head-heavy and narrow at the waist. Finned cylinders, of course. Pure. Dripping with power. The engine is the visual center piece of the bike. This one makes an ironclad statement about holding on to what’s right and staying true to what satisfies. Black Powder Coated Engine with Chrome Covers The jewel at the center of the Freewheeler® motorcycle is a black powder coated Milwaukee Eight 107™ engine with chrome covers. Yeah, it's a lot of show. But that's okay. Because it's backed up by a lot of go. High Flow Airbox Our design philosophy can be summed up pretty simply: form follows function, but both report to emotion. This airbox is a prime example of that. It’s the most functional airbox we’ve ever put on a Harley-Davidson® touring bike. It lets the engine breathe better for more power, but it’s also designed to provide better airflow around the rider. Emotion? That’s the part you feel when you look at it sitting right at the center of your V-Twin engine. 12" Mini Apehanger Bars The 12" Mini Apehanger bars on the Freewheeler® model are the tallest rise you can get from an OE manufacturer. They look good, but these tall bars aren't just there for looks. They pull the hand controls back toward the rider, and reduce the force it takes to turn the front wheel. They help make the Freewheeler one easy riding, easy handling machine. Tank And Fender Badges This isn’t just a motorcycle. It’s a work of art, born out of passion, creativity and long days, late nights and refusing to be satisfied until every detail was perfect. When we added the signature badges, we did it with metal. Nothing else would be right on this masterpiece. Bobtail Rear Fenders What's better than the classic look of a Harley-Davidson® bobtail rear fender? How about the classic look of two Harley-Davidson® bobtail rear fenders? That's what you get on the Freewheeler® model. It's the kind of custom look that's hard to find anywhere else. Rear Body Structure The Freewheeler® model is 3" shorter than the Tri Glide® Ultra model, thanks to an all-new rear body structure that's been pulled forward to reduce the overall length of the vehicle. This makes Freewheeler® model feel smaller and less intimidating. One more reason why the Freewheeler is the choice for those who place a premium on the ease of handling their machine. Chrome Slash Cut Mufflers The Milwaukee-Eight™ 107 engine puts its exhaust note out to the world
through chrome slash down style mufflers. They're cut 3 inches shorter than the
Tri Glide® Ultra model's mufflers to match the shorter length of the
Freewheeler® model. There's a 7-piece nacelle on the Freewheeler® model. It was designed from the ground up for this machine. It's tucked tight against the frame and forks for a tighter, smaller look. And it accommodates a clean-looking windshield mounting system. Bullet Turn Signals We went end to end and top to bottom to give the Harley-Davidson® touring lineup the clean, tight, sharp, iconic look and feel that only befits the next generation of our motorcycles. The finishing touch bullet turn signals. Sleek and modern, yet a timeless classic. Enforcer Cast Aluminum Wheels There’s an Enforcer front wheel leading the way on the Freewheeler® motorcycle, and you've got two more to match in the back. Up front, the brake rotors have been re-designed to show off more of the premium custom look of the wheels. Three wheels never looked so pleasing to the eye.
