Kawasaki updated the ZXR 1200 in
2009, a muscular naked that’s not giving up its 70’s style, highlighting some
of its characteristics from those years. Featured is a generous front
headlight and windshield with a typical tail completing the aesthetics at the
back.
The in line four cylinder engine has electronic ignition and as part of its
environmental qualifications, the power has taken a step back. To control the
temperature of the engine, a larger radiator that has 16 percent more cooling
capacity. The transmission has been updated for a more robust gear change, and
the emission valves are slighter larger at 31.5mm.
The chassis is a double cradle frame with standard fork - no dramatic changes
have been made in order to maintain the simple efficiency of the structure. A
touch of modernity comes with the disc brakes which are now omnipresent on
almost all Kawasaki models.
