Norton Atlas Ranger
Norton has launched two new motorcycles - the Norton Atlas Ranger and the Norton Atlas Nomad.
The Ranger being a more dirt focused model with a 19 inch front wheel and 200 mm suspension travel, where the Nomad is more street focused and has a 18 inch front wheel with 150 mm suspension travel.
Both models will be powered by an all-new 650cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 84hp and 47lb-ft of torque, which is effectively half of Norton’s latest V4 1200cc motor. Both will have a tubular steel frame, top-notch suspension components and Brembo radial calipers.
Norton CEO, Stuart Garner says: “It’s a game-changer for us. It’s our first modern affordable bike. This is right in the middle of existing market territory, and we’re aiming to make 2000 per year once full production commences across these two versions. I think we’ll sell slightly more of the Ranger version, despite it being more expensive, just because it really does offer genuine off-road ability, as well as being a great everyday road bike.”
