From a press release from Triumph Motorcycles:
Designed to be the ultimate performance street bike, Triumph’s top
specification 2022 Street Triple RS gets a major step up in performance from a
significant engine update developed by Triumph’s Moto2TM engine team. It
features all-new, more aggressive styling and continues to set the category
benchmark for light weight, intuitive handling and overall capability.
Category-defining from the very beginning
Light, fast, fun, agile and stylish – the Street Triple has been a game-changer
since its launch in 2007. It redefined the middleweight sports category,
establishing itself as the first choice for its combination of aggressive looks,
intuitive handling, thrilling power delivery and unique triple soundtrack.
Evolving from the renowned 675cc triple powerplant to the exhilarating 765cc
in 2017, the Street Triple once again raised the bar as the lightest bike in
class with all-new, state-of-the-art technology, high-specification chassis, and
Triumph’s signature exceptional standard of finish and detailing.
For 2022, the new Street Triple RS takes another step up in performance and
ride-enhancing technology. Combining trademark handling, high-specification
suspension, Brembo brakes and aggressive tires, the new Street Triple RS is
perfect for the street and the track.
A major step up in performance – more power, more torque
Developed by Triumph’s expert Moto2TM engine team, the new Street Triple RS
benefits from a significant update to its characterful 765cc triple engine. The
result is a substantial increase in torque, now 9% higher in the mid-range,
before peaking at an even higher 58 LB-FT at 9,350rpm. The new exhaust balance
pipe smooths the torque curve for exciting, usable torque accessible across the
entire rev range.
Power is also up by 9% in the mid-range and peaking at 121 HP at 11,750rpm,
making the new Street Triple RS a totally addictive ride. Engine updates include
a new exhaust cam optimized for more mid-range performance and new,
higher-precision machining on the crank shaft, clutch and balancer, which lowers
inertia and reduces engine mass.
The throttle is even more responsive as a result of a 7% reduction in
rotational inertia, which combined with the increase in torque across the rev
range, delivers a notable improvement in immediacy.
There is also a new silencer on the Street Triple RS, now freer flowing due
to the twin catalyst system reducing restriction and lowering emissions. It’s
finished off beautifully with a premium carbon fiber end cap tastefully
delivering more of the bikes distinctive triple sound. This new tonality is
created from exhaust system refinements and the all-new intake duct, which
together improves the crispness and purity of the tone, providing a smoother
balance between intake and silencer sound.
The slick gearbox on the new Street Triple RS has short first- and
second-gear ratios, delivering exceptional acceleration and crisp gear changes.
Higher-precision machining also enables the removal of the anti-backlash gears,
reducing mass and adding further refinement. Plus, the Street Triple RS retains
its high-specification slip and assist clutch for a really light feel, reducing
clutch lever effort and improving rider comfort and control.
Aggressive attitude, poise and style
The Street Triple RS has an aggressive new look with a tasteful update to its
iconic styling. The LED headlights are all-new and feature a striking shape and
a sharper and more purposeful style. They are also now whiter and brighter.
More angular bodywork is augmented with cleaner lines lending the bike a
forceful, aggressive stance. A redesigned fly screen and air intake are more
pronounced, complementing the shape of the new updated headlights. The side
panels, rear unit, seat cowl and belly pan are all-new and distinct from the
previous model.
The silencer has also been restyled to be more sporty and compact, with a
beautiful carbon fiber finisher with Triumph badge branding. Plus, there’s
enhanced detailing across the motorcycle with new contemporary mirrors and
branded handlebar clamp. Harmonized component finishes include blacked out
control plates and rear footrest hangers, plus satin-metal heel guards and
silencer finish. Representing the pinnacle of the Street Triple range, the
Street Triple RS has the highest level of finish and is available with a new
Titanium Silver main frame, matching the finish used on the Speed Triple models.
For even more contemporary style, the new Street Triple RS is presented in
two different color schemes: Matte Jet Black with Aluminum Silver and Yellow
decals, or Silver Ice with Diablo Red and aluminum Silver decals. Both paint
scheme options include hand-painted Diablo Red wheel pinstripes and an aluminum
Silver rear sub-frame.
Even better technology
On top of its category-leading high standard of technology, the 2022 Street
Triple RS now features an even higher level of technological specification. The
TFT system now has enhanced functionality with the MyTriumph connectivity system
software ready to be used with the accessory-fit Bluetooth module. This enables
GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone/music operation via the
ergonomically optimized switch cubes displayed on the TFT screen. It also
features new second generation graphic schemes, available in four different
styles. The TFT screen angle can also be adjusted for optimum visibility to suit
rider height.
The latest Triumph Shift Assist has now been added as standard to the new
Street Triple RS, making the bike much more capable, particularly on track. This
enables smooth comfortable gear changes while maintaining the accelerator
position, which reduces rider fatigue.
The five improved riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Track and Rider
Configurable) have now been optimized to suit the bike’s higher level of
performance for maximum rider control. These modes adjust throttle response,
ABS, and traction control settings, and can easily be selected while riding.
Rain mode restricts power to 99 HP for enhanced safety and control.
Complementing the new technology, the Street Triple RS retains its high level
of standard specification, including ride-by-wire, adjustable ABS and switchable
traction control.

Maximum street and track capability
As the lightest bike in its class, the new Street Triple RS has an incredible
power-to-weight ratio that is key to its category-leading performance, making
this an agile, exhilarating bike for a range of riders. Further contributing to
the Street Triple’s agility and precise, engaged handling, it also boasts the
lightest wheels in the class.
The iconic gullwing swingarm delivers both torsional stiffness and lateral
flexibility, maximizing stability at higher speed while its optimized pivot
position provides natural resistance to compressing the rear shock under hard
acceleration. Together, these enable tighter corner exits and the Street
Triple’s precise chassis behavior.
The new Street Triple RS features fully adjustable 41mm Showa big piston
front forks, with 4.5-inches (115 mm) travel, and fully adjustable Öhlins STX40
piggyback reservoir monoshock rear suspension unit, with 5.2-inches (131 mm)
rear wheel travel.
For incredible stopping power and class-leading braking performance, the
Street Triple RS features top-spec Brembo M50 4-piston radial monobloc front
calipers paired with a Brembo ratio and span adjustable brake lever, and a
Brembo sliding rear caliper.
Pirelli’s latest-generation, fully street-legal, high-performance Diablo
Supercorsa SP V3 tires help the new Street Triple RS deliver race track
