The Triumph Street Triple RX is the elite Street
Triple in Triumph's range, and comes with certain differences from the base
model. The RX boasts strong stylistic influences from the company's supersport
weapon, the Daytona 675R.
Naked vibe with supersport design cues
In fact, the RX version of the Street Triple is assembled using the very rear
section of the Daytona and shares some of the design cues of the sport machine.
The graphics of the Triumph Street Triple RX Black have, of course, been
revised, and the attire of the machine is now darker and meaner. On the tech
side, nothing has changed from the basic RX model.
The RX Black packs a 675cc displacement and its three-cylinder engine produces
106 PS at 11,850 rpm and 68 Nm (50.1 lb-ft) 9,750 rpm, mated to a manual 6-speed
transmission. Kayaba supplies the suspensions, and the ABS-equipped braking
system uses Nissin front calipers and a Brembo one in the back.
LCD instrumentation is stock and it includes a digital speedometer, fuel gauge,
trip computer, analog tachometer, lap timer, gear position indicator,
programmable gear change lights, clock, TPMS ready and switchable ABS.
With a dry weight of 168 kg (371 lbs) and a 17.4-liter (4.6 US gal) tank, the
Triumph Street Triple RX Black is a fairly light machine that's a sure ticket
for solid fun, both on the street and on the track.
