Yamaha 04GEN Concept
Yamaha has unveiled the 04Gen scooter concept at the 2016 Vietnam motorcycle show, and it's a striking concept, with what could be called 'wings' like that of an insect. The design concept is based on Yamaha's "RUN" philosophy, which stands for "Revolutionary, Unique, Noble". As the name implies, the 04Gen concept is the fourth creation from Yamaha, and uses translucent materials as a design aesthetic. Most of the 04Gen's bodywork is made of the same translucent plastic that makes up the wings. Yamaha’s version of a premium scooter is certainly striking in appearance and from the images we can see some exquisite craftsmanship and modern technology on show. A one-piece brown leather seat and leather handlebar grips might not feature on the production version, should the model make it that far, but the 12 inch rear wheel, two luggage compartments and forward-mounted fuel tank adjacent to a fuel gauge would. The wings fold down and cover the side panels of the scooter. It certainly is a work of art, but there's been no word if the concept will ever make it to the market.
