Yamaha FZ-10 Tourer
Europe will be getting the 2017 Yamaha FZ-10 Tourer edition. The unstoppable influence of the Dark Side of Japan continues to grow with the arrival of the FZ-10 Tourer Edition. Its high windshield and knuckle guards allow you to run longer and harder on every ride, while the design of the seat delivers added comfort for a hyper naked bike that it is. Soft ABS side cases will increase functionality by adding much needed luggage space, while a GPS support can be found on the dash ready to accommodate various devices including the TomTom rider satnav that is offered as an optional extra. All of these special parts and accessories were already available to existing FZ-10 owners, but the fully-equipped Tourer Edition represents a sensible saving when compared to buying the items separately. The special touring-oriented equipment transforms the most exciting Hyper Naked into an even more versatile and functional motorcycle, capable of covering longer distances at high speeds. With its ability to excel at everything from commuting through to sport riding, and weekend trips through to longer distance adventures, the FZ-10 Tourer Edition combines thrilling performance and all-round versatility. The engine is still the same detuned 998cc Crossplane unit that comes on the FZ-10 standard, It’s capable of pushing out 158 hp at 11,500 rpm and 111 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. Despite its faithfulness to the FZ-10, it does have some nice tourer-orientated upgrades. The usual traction control is included, a quickshifter for clutchless upshifts comes as standard, and three distinct riding modes are on offer that can be adjusted for tinkering with the ignition timing, the throttle opening and the fuel injection. However, the cruise control is also a nice extra purely for the touring model, and an assist and slipper clutch is also thrown into the mix to facilitate smoother downshifts. The brakes and suspension remain the same, with USD style KYB adjustable units at the front and rear. There will be three color options available: Tech Black, Race Blu, and Night Fluo.
