XTZ 250 Lander was introduced in 2006 to replace the XT225, it was an upgrade from the previous XT250, but now with a more aggressive offroad appearance, inspired by the WR250R, although intended for casual commuting riders - thus having lower quality components. It was available in blue & white, black & green/white/red, black & orange, orange, and dark red through its lifespan, with a limited white edition resulted from an unused surplus order by the São Paulo police force. It shares the engine and much of its parts with its street bike counterpart YS 250 Fazer.

Brazil Yamaha has just introduced the new version of its XTZ Lander 250 for the 2009 season, with electronic fuel injection (engine our YBR 250), with catalyst, oxygen sensor system and CIS induction air to bring the regulations Promot Brazil 3, very similar to the European Euro 3.

The single engine of 249 d.c. remains basically the same, a low-cost air-cooled 4-stroke, single cylinder head camshaft (SOHC) 4 valve, now injected, which delivers a maximum output of 21 hp at 8000 rpm and maximum torque of 2.1 kgm at 6,500 laps, which reaches the rear wheel through a change of relations 5.

Part rider does not change, remains intact on the Lander 250 2008, but was re-decorated and fibers for the new season, with a more modern and attractive bike.

Yamaha XTZ 250 X Supermotard
And taking advantage of the revival, the 2009 trailer Lander accompanied by a sister asphalt in plan Supermotard is the XTZ 250 X, which is a fender and fork guards and more speed than the Lander area, as well the mandatory 17-inch tires on both axles, tires, asphalt pavements of 110/70 and 130/70.

The rest of the asphalt and fun X is identical to the Lander, except for some finishing touches, like the matte black color of the fork, swingarm, handlebars and graphics fins and side covers.
