Developed under the Kawasaki product platform, Caliber 115 is being launched across India over the next one week.

Says Bajaj Auto president Rajiv Bajaj: ''Bajaj Auto has achieved undisputed leadership in the entry level segment with a market share of 47 per cent by the Boxer series complimented with the new 100 km per litre BYK and also in the premium segment with a market share of 40 per cent by the Bajaj Pulsar.

''Now, with the introduction of the Caliber 115, we are all set to make a clear dent in the executive bike segment. This is our first major initiative towards the leadership in the executive bike segment and we are confident to achieve the leadership in the overall motorcycle market in the near future.''

The Caliber 115 offers the reliability that comes from years of experience and company's deep understanding of the Indian rider and Indian roads. The Caliber 115 is priced at an attractive Rs 40,215 (ex-showroom Pune).

Styling

A dazzling Optoprism headlamp with stylish fairing. The contoured 14-litre fuel tank with attractive decals and an aluminium die cast grab make up for the new looks of the bike. A sporty signature silencer with Kawasaki-etched protection shield accentuates the aesthetics of the bike. The attractive speedometer console has a sports watch look.

Performance

Designed to draw a line on the road, the meaty four-stroke, 111.6cc K-TEC engine offers an amazing mileage of 90 kmpl and awesome power of 9.5 bhp, the highest in its category. A unique optimum-riding indicator, for the first time in India, shows optimum speed for maximum mileage. The throttle responsive ignition control system (TRICS) ensures the K-TEC engine gives a good mileage at all times.

Comfort

The anti-slide seat of the new Caliber 115 will ensure that you remain in your position even when you hit the brakes suddenly. Hydrodynamic (HDS) Suspension provides comfort even on rough, bumpy, potholed roads. With rubber mounted handle bar, engine and the silencer the Caliber 115 is nothing short of noiseless.

Safety

The Caliber 115 comes with 130 mm drum brakes in front and rear wheels, giving it stronger braking. Wider front and rear Zapper tyres ensure better road grip. Providing safety to the rider even when uncertainty is written large on the terrain. MFR indicators and tail lamp increase visibility at night. An Optoprism halogen headlamp makes streetlights redundant, even on the darkest of nights. Hi-beam flasher makes overtaking safe.
