BMW R100RT by Bolt Motor Company

.

Bolt Motor Company customized one of BMW’s classic Boxer motorcycles, the BMW R100RT, to celebrate this Valencia based custom shop's 30th custom build.

Bolt Motor Co. specializes in classic motorcycles.  The strong point of Bolt Motor Co. is the excellent team that makes it up. Among its professionals are mechanics with more than 30 years of experience in the world of racing motorcycling, so in addition to being specialists in the restoration and customization of motorcycles, they take special care for details, achieving spectacular results.  Bolt Motor Co. is especially linked to Campos Racing, a Valencian team that currently competes in the GP2, GP3 and Formula 3 World Cups, whose mechanics, whenever their chores allow, collaborate in the creation of these special motorcycles.  Adrián Campos is the race director and also runs the custom shop.

Their goal was to build a Boxer Classic very different from what has been done so far, and the team at Valencia’s premier cycle shop was up to the challenge with the result of # BOLT30.

They started off, by outfitting the BMW with the upside down forks and triple trees from an MV Agusta Brutale, and a triple lower seat post from the MV Agusta F4.

The biggest challenge for the team was to replace the rear end with a modern BMW R1200R rear end, to be able to mount a central shock absorber.

The exhaust, which has been crafted from a single piece of hand-formed metal, without the need for welds was rerouted into the frame and around the rear shock.  The only welding done was at the back to fit a Spark titanium muffler.

The engine was completely rebuild so that the owner of the # BOLT30 enjoys a completely new motorcycle and updates up to the smallest detail.

The brake discs are oversized, both front and rear.  BMW R1200GS tires were fitted.

The introduction of an electronic installation system, which includes a new ignition system, switchboard, and rectifier-regulator, complements the cycle’s thoroughly refurbished power plant.

According to Bolt: "The painting of this BMW R100RT also meant a lot of work. We were looking for a crystal effect; something we achieved thanks to a special treatment of paints and lacquers at high temperature and scratch resistance and oven drying. The result could not have been more beautiful."

And to signify their 30th build, the ‘BO’ of the tank motif doubles up as a ’30.’
