Moto Guzzi Griso 1100 Café Racer by Katsu Motorworks

.

Renowned Japanese custom builder Katsu Motorworks has built this stunning Moto Guzzi Griso 1100 café racer. This build was commissioned by a personal friend, who is enthusiastic about cafe racer bikes and streetfighters.

There choice of a donor bike fell on a 2006 Griso 1100.

Katsumoto kept the slim, elegant silhouette, opting for an origami-style aluminum body with minimal embellishments. The customer asked Katsu not to paint anything that covered the chassis, which better emphasizes the beautiful handcrafted metalwork. So Katsumoto-san instructed the House of Kolor to paint the frame and wheels in a rich burgundy hue.

Other highlights include the fully adjustable inverted fork of the Griso 1200, Brembo calipers with Pro Brake rotors, clip-ons and Michelin Power GP tires. There's also a Motogadget dashboard and dual stacked headlights, adding function and flavour to the design.

The engine, which remained standard apart from the calibration required by the new K&N filters that took the place of the air-box, has been repainted and the head covers partially painted cherry red which is the same colour as  the frame and rims.

Katsumoto-san reduce the Griso's 229kg dry weight by installing a custom stainless steel exhaust system that snakes around the left side, leaving the longitudinal V-twin and axle drive fully exposed on the right.
